Clean River Project e. V.

The CleanUp tour from Koblenz to Berlin will also make a stop in Magdeburg! On August 31st, plastic waste and other rubbish will be cleared from the river Elbe and its banks. So that this garbage does not flow into the sea, one can paddle and become active on this day – collecting is done on land and from the canoes.

Anyone who has their own boat is welcome to bring it. For those who do not have a boat — a limited number of canoes are available. The first come first serve rule is applied here.

Afterwards the supporters of the beach bar take care of the physical well-being and invite to a cool drink and a small strengthening in the beach bar. Once everyone is refreshed, you can listen to experience reports on plastic waste pollution.

Stephan Horch, project initiator of the Clean River Project, examines the situation on the German rivers and explain more about the Clean River Project. Furthermore, the environmental activist Magdalena Gschnitzer is a guest, who will tell us about her experiences with ghost nets and the extent of plastic pollution in the sea.

There will also be the opportunity to visit an outdoor art exhibition and learn more about the Clean River Project e.V. mission.
